(For Immediate Release – Las Vegas, NV) Seasoned Trans Am TA2 driver, Michele Abbate, has joined Blaze Racing in their fight for the World Racing League Championship in the GP1 Class at Mid-Ohio. Due to lack of funding, Abbate has not committed to any Trans Am events for the 2025 season, but she’s not slowing down – she continues to advance in the sport through other new-to-her avenues. Â
Recently, in light of International Women’s Day, Abbate was named one of DirtFish’s first Women in Motorsport drivers (www.dirtfish.com) and will progress her driving skills in the world of rally throughout the calendar year of 2025. Now, Abbate will attend the World Racing League race at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course as she competes with the Blaze Racing Team, based out of Park City, UT, in their #118 E36 BMW. Michele has competed in several endurance racing events including notable races like the 6 Hours of Bathurst in Australia at Mount Panorama (2017) and NASA’s the 25 Hours of Thunderhill (2018).
“I am very excited to join the entire Blaze Racing Team for this event and I’m looking forward to returning to the Mid-Ohio race track. Endurance racing is a team effort and the Blaze Racing Team has welcomed me with open arms – I can’t wait to work together to get on the podium!”, Michele shared.
The invitation to join the Blaze Racing Team came from Scott Mann – Team Principal, Driver, and long time friend of Michele. Both who reside in Las Vegas, Nevada, Scott reached out to Michele when the seat became available. Scott explained, “With Michele’s vast experience in multiple different platforms, and her staunch commitment to physical and mental conditioning, she will add a wealth of talent and feedback to our growing endeavor. I run a tight cohesive and efficient race team that depends on constructive attitudes, informed decisions, less egos and more collaboration. This is exactly what Michele is known for as I see it. We truly look forward to Michele joining our team as we fight our way to the top!”
With a solid effort from all fronts of the Blaze Racing Team they look for success on April 4-6, 2025 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio. The team will race one 8 hour endurance race on Saturday and one 7 hour race on Sunday. Currently they are sitting in 7th place in the Championship out of 25 GP1 cars after the first two events on the schedule. Both races are streamed live on YouTube so fans can follow along. Be sure to follow Michele on her social platforms for more updates and add Blaze Racing Team as well via Facebook or Instagram @blazeracingofficial
